Anita Wood Portrait with Diamond Bell Necklace from Elvis

This portrait was made in the years following Elvis’ return from Germany.  Anita is wearing a diamond bell necklace that Elvis had given her.  Just click on the picture to get a closer look.  There is an interesting funny story that goes along with this portrait in the book, Once Upon A Time: Elvis and Anita.

  1. I’ve been waiting a long time to add your book to my collection of Elvis books. Thank you for sharing your memories with us.

  2. I really like the history of Elvis. For over 10 years I have been following many websites on his legacy. I really like the home movies taken in Texas when Elvis was at Eddie’s home and Anita was in the movies. Eddie’s daughter has commented she thought a lot of Anita. I also googled the home address where Anita was staying in Memphis when she first met Elvis and saw the street view of the home. That home is still there. I know your book will add a lot to this information of Elvis and Anita. Always thought that Dixie Locke and Anita were good for Elvis. Good luck with the book and hope you two get to do interviews and book signings across the country.

  3. Congrats to my big sis and Mom for doing this big undertaking! It still amazes me how many BIG things my Mom was even without the Elvis connection!

  4. I have just started reading your book and I am enjoying it immensely. I wondered if there was anywhere I could write to so that I could have a card signed by you and your mother to put into my book. I live in Northern Ireland.
    Thank you.

  5. Just finished reading the book (started two days ago and had a hard time puting it down). It was one of the most enjoyable biographies that I have read about the early Elvis years. Incredible highs and equally incredible lows. Anita, thank you for sharing your experience. A fascinating read.

  6. I’m super excited about reading this book!!! And also I was speechless when I seen my fan made video on her ” I’ll Remember You “…thank you so much for posting it on your website!!
